Android 17's AI Features Yet to Be Realized; Only Floating Bubbles Added So Far

According to a report by Rahul Naskar from Android Police on July 16, Android 17, which Google has positioned as the beginning of its transition to an “intelligence system,” has no AI-related features available in its stable update. The only notable new feature is the addition of “App Bubbles,” a floating bubble UI function.

The Gap Between Expectations and Reality

Google has defined Android 17 as an “intelligence system” distinct from conventional mobile operating systems, promising core features such as multi-step task automation via agent-based AI and AI widgets. Naskar expressed rare excitement about the Android update in his article, noting that he installed the stable version on his device on the day of its release.

However, neither the stable build nor the subsequently released QPR1 beta build includes these anticipated AI features.
