Rental Rooms Misused in Tokyo’s Edogawa Ward: Three Arrested

On April 2, the Metropolitan Police Department arrested three individuals, including the operator of a rental room in Tokyo’s Edogawa Ward, on suspicion of providing the facility as a venue for foreign women on short-term stays to engage in prostitution. According to some reports, the arrested individuals include a 42-year-old operator of a sex business and two accomplices. Authorities believe they may have been systematically organizing prostitution activities.

Revenue from Prostitution Estimated to Exceed 40 Million Yen

Investigations by law enforcement suggest that the three suspects profited by providing rental rooms to foreign women, who were then involved in prostitution at these locations. It is estimated that by January 2026, they had generated more than 40 million yen in revenue.
